The Stampeddler

The Stampeddler, located at 145 North Center Street in the old Open Door Christian Church building, is owned and operated by Margene and Bob Buckhave.  The building houses several related businesses.  In the main portion of the building, the old sanctuary, is the main store which features stamps, papers, inks, pens, and just about everything that you would need for making invitations, stationary, place cards, and other art projects.  Until recently, Memories by Stampeddler was housed in the south end of the building.  As of April 29, 2002 Memories by Stampeddler Plus, reopened in the new building located in front of the church.  The new store has 3,000 square feet of scrapbook supplies, paper, stickers, pens, decorative scissors, and more.  The original church building also has a classroom where classes are offered year round on scrap booking and stamping.  Anyone can be creative, let them show you how!

The Stampeddler opened in 1983 on Mary Alexander Court.  After 15 years at that location, Margene and her husband Bob purchased the old church building and moved the business to the ground floor of the church, while creating a second floor space for their residence.  The move has proven to be a good one for the business, more than tripling their sales floor area.  In her 19 years in business, Margene continues to refine the store each year as sales continue to climb.

Margene and Bob are active Northville residents, giving much back to the community.  Margene is an active member of the Northville Downtown Development Authority and the Northville Central Business Community.  Bob is a member of the Northville Rotary Club and is currently acting as the general contractor on the Buckhave’s Old Church Square project, a new 10,000 square foot retail project located adjacent to the Stampeddler at the corner of Center and Dunlap Streets.
