Stop in and taste test some of the finest ingredients Northern Michigan has to offer.  Originating in Petoskey in 1982, American Spoon Foods is famous for their flavorful jams & jellies, spoon fruits in flavors like Apple, Peach, and Raspberry; and dried fruits & nuts; but did you know they also carry delicious grilling sauces in flavors such as Cherry BBQ and Chili Lime; salsas such as Cherry Peach, Mango Habanero, and Tomatillo; relishes such as Sweet Tomato, Ripe Olive, and Portobello Mushroom; salad dazzlers that add zest not only to your salads and vegetables, but are wonderful for marinating meats and fish; vinaigrettes; soups by American Frontier, and condiments?  All of which are available to sample on a rotating basis.  For those with special dietary needs, you can find products that are sugar free, gluten free, and low in carbohydrates.

While browsing through Northville’s streets stop in for a fresh cup of coffee and Italian ice cream.  Gelato, which is Italian for ice cream, and Sorbetto, which is the non-dairy equivalent, are made in a variety of flavors with 18 of these flavors such as Pumpkin, Chocolate, and Coffee always available.  Sit and relax at  tables provided for your convenience.  American Spoon Foods in Northville is stroller and wheelchair accessible.

American Spoon products are perfect for the party table or holiday gift giving, birthdays, or simply a token of appreciation for someone special.  Pre-packaged gift boxes are available or you can personalize a gift box or basket with your favorites.  Choose from birch bark or wicker baskets, American Spoon’s unique corrugated gift boxes, or an illustrated folk art gift box filled with your personally selected assortment of gifts while staying within your own budget.  Each gift box or basket can be personalized with a gift tag and ribbon ready for gift giving.  Delivery is available in Northville for a nominal fee, corporate discounts are available, and shipping is available through American Spoon’s website.  Not quite sure what to buy, gift certificates are always right.

A perfect time to start your holiday shopping or planning the holiday meal is Sunday, November 23rd during Northville’s 22nd Annual Christmas Walk. Jason Acosta from American Spoon Foods in Petoskey will be in Northville demonstrating with American Spoon products from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.  Christmas carols can be heard from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm.

Kimberly Behmer is the owner and manager of southeast Michigan’s first American Spoon store.  Kimberly got her start in retail working in management at both Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue.  She opened American Spoon Foods at 105 N. Center Street just over a year ago on September 6, 2002.  She is a Northville Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Authority (DDA) member.  As she has children in the Northville Public Schools, Kimberly offers a 10% discount for all students with I.D. from Northville’s Middle Schools and High School.

Visit American Spoon Foods at 105 N. Center Street.  Store hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Friday 10:00 am - 8:00 pm, and Sunday 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm; closed Mondays.  Shop the American Spoon website here.
