Sherrus Gallery of Fine Art opened
its door to the art world just 2 months ago bringing a new dimension to
the growing art scene in downtown Northville. Sherrus Gallery features
original oils, acrylics, sculpture and fine art glass created by
national and international established and emerging artists. The
contemporary gallery offers collector quality works for both the
aspiring and veteran collector.
The Sherrus Gallery of Fine Art
displays the works of numerous artists in different mediums including
Northville’s own Jeff von Buskirk. Jeff is a painter and art designer
whose murals appear in residences and commercial establishments. His
work can be seen locally, nationally and internationally. Jeff’s most
recognizable piece of art in Northville is the five-story American flag
commemorating 9/11, which is draped across the rear face of the Marquis
Theatre.
Vic Leo is also a Northville resident and is
one of the pioneers in the studio glass movement from the perspective of
a collector. Vic’s hand-blown glass centers around such serene themes as
the ocean, sky and clouds. Vic’s glasswork is exhibited in numerous
galleries throughout Michigan.
Each unique creation of Romanian born Ioan
Nemtoi is designed, blown by mouth and signed by Nemtoi himself. One of
the fundamental means Nemtoi accomplishes is with the decorative effects
of color controlling luminosity, brightness and the interplay of matted
and transparent surfaces. Nemtoi’s works are displayed in private
collections throughout Europe, Scandanavia, Asia and can now be part of
your collection.
Sherrus
Gallery is proud to claim exclusive representation for a number of
artists in the state of Michigan including French artist, Margos; Tina
Palmer; Japanese artist, Masa Watanabe and Peter Chung of Hong Kong.
Each month the Sherrus Gallery
features a new artist for
First Friday’s
Art Walk. Gwen Tomkow of Farmington and Michael Nagara of Ann Arbor
will be introduced on June 3rd with a wine and cheese reception. The
exhibit will run through the month of June. Gwen Tomkow’s exquisite use
of color and impressionistic style creates a unique representation of
Michigan landscapes. Tomkow is a well known and widely collected
watercolorist whose paintings are on display throughout the United
States. Michael Satoshi Nagara is an emerging artist whose contemporary
works reflect his Japanese culture.

perfect cut every time. Sherri will be happy to visit your home to aid
in the selection of frames appropriate for your artwork and
